Burn Prevention Network Expands Board of Directors

The Burn Prevention Network welcomes five new members to its board of directors.

The Burn Prevention Network (BPN), a Pennsylvania 501(c) 3 non-profit organization based in the Lehigh Valley with state, and regional programs, recently appointed five new members to its board of directors. The mission of BPN is to provide burn injury prevention education, materials, and advocacy throughout North America. Those joining the board include:

 

Like many on the current board, the newest board members also participate on other fire or burn-related boards throughout Pennsylvania. Chief Efrain Agosto is a member of the International Association of Firefighters. He has also been awarded unit citations, certificates of achievement, and recognition from the Allentown Fire Department, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Senate of Pennsylvania, and the House of Representatives.

David Schmid is an expert civil trial attorney certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey and is a member of the firm‘s Accident & Personal Injury practice. He focuses his practice on representing burn survivors and is a champion for their rights. Mr. Schmid is also a member of The American Burn Association and the National Fire Protection Association.

Chief Christopher DeNaples is a member of the board of directors for Emergency Medical Services of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Career Fire Chief Association. He has served on BPN’s Emergency Services Advisory Committee since January 2020.

Jennifer Krastin works as the administrative manager at BioMed Sciences, Inc, a leader in new and innovative products for wound care, scar management, and skin renewing technologies used by many burn survivors. She earned her Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014.

Jerry E. Ozog currently serves as the executive director of the Pennsylvania Fire & Emergency Services Institute, a statewide advocacy and education organization. He has served in volunteer and career emergency service sectors for the past 35 years, including acting as an active volunteer firefighter for the Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Company and currently serves as the deputy fire chief.

The new inductees will replace outgoing board members Cathy Campanaro, Greg Kile, Ed Mann, Baran Schultz, and James Lucey. BPN thanks these members for their time and dedication to BPN’s mission.
