Welcome, Evangelina Shelly!

We are thrilled to welcome Evangelina Shelly as the newest member of our Burn Prevention Network family! Evangelina joins us as Administrative Assistant, bringing her experience, enthusiasm, and passion for making a difference.

Evangelina has spent years working in the nonprofit sector, cultivating her skills and dedication to causes that matter. “This opportunity came about through a connection with my current supervisor, who I previously worked with,” she shares. “I was drawn to this organization because of its mission and the chance to continue making an impact in work that truly matters to me.”

Growing up in a small city in the Lehigh Valley, Evangelina witnessed firsthand how diverse communities can enrich one another. “What has stayed with me is seeing the support of my neighbors and how a collective group can make a bigger impact,” she says. These experiences have shaped her values and commitment to community-driven work.

When asked what inspired her to join BPN, Evangelina says, “I was drawn to the organization’s mission of empowering children who’ve experienced burns by surrounding them with community support. The idea of helping kids heal and build resilience through connection really resonated with me, and I wanted to be part of that impact.”

In her new role, Evangelina is looking forward to connecting with donors and helping them see the tangible effects of their support. “Being able to bridge the gap between our mission and the people who make it possible feels incredibly rewarding,” she says.

Outside of work, Evangelina has a lively side! She loves taking Zumba classes—a fun way to stay active—and enjoys traveling and exploring new places.

Looking ahead, Evangelina hopes to deepen her knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and learn how to engage supporters in meaningful ways that advance BPN’s mission. Her dream project? Developing an initiative that directly supports the homeless population in her community—a cause close to her heart.
