She adopted her baby sister, got married, put herself through college and graduated with a secretarial degree (which was the closest she could get to a business degree). She went on to have seven children, own a hardware store, grocery store, nursing home, pizza restaurant, sandwich shop and TV repair store. She is in her 90s and the most strategic and savvy business person I’ve ever met.
