There’s exciting news: Flick’s Fire and Burn Safety Program for grades K-5 has been completely revamped—and it’s ready to roll out in classrooms across Pennsylvania!
For over a decade, Flick the Firefly has helped teach kids how to stay safe from burns and fire hazards. Now, the Burn Prevention Network is proud to introduce a brand-new, virtual version of Flick’s program—shorter, sharper, and even easier for busy teachers to use.

The new Flick’s Fire and Burn Safety Program is now available as a 45-minute lesson—ideal for assemblies, classroom sessions, or as a part of a health and safety curricula. It packs a powerful punch of essential safety information while keeping kids interested and involved.
Developed With Experts—and Kids!
This isn’t just a new slide deck thrown together. Over the past year, the Burn Prevention Network collaborated with fire safety professionals, emergency workers, burn care experts, and educators to ensure every detail is accurate, age-appropriate, and engaging.
And we didn’t stop there. Throughout the spring, we beta tested the new materials in real classrooms across several school districts. Teachers provided feedback on what worked best, and students gave us their honest reactions. Thanks to their input, we’ve fine-tuned the program to deliver maximum impact in just 45 minutes.

Her mission? To give every child the knowledge they need to stay safe from burns and fires.
