Burn Prevention Network (BPN) is thrilled to welcome Kyla Bender as the new Prevention Outreach Coordinator for the Lehigh Valley! Kyla brings a wealth of experience, a passion for education, and a deep connection to the local community that make her an excellent addition to the BPN team.
Kyla’s journey with BPN began several years ago when a friend introduced her to the organization. Inspired by its mission, she kept an eye on opportunities to get involved. When the Prevention Outreach Coordinator position opened, Kyla knew it was her chance to make a difference.
One of her primary responsibilities is implementing BPN’s Home Safe Home Young Adventurer’s Club program, which teaches burn prevention to preschoolers in a fun and engaging way. This role is a perfect match for Kyla, who has spent the past 17 years working as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a focus on early childhood and early intervention. Her background in education and passion for working with young children align seamlessly with the goals of the program.
“I’m finding this experience to be just as fun and rewarding as I had hoped!” Kyla shared. “The Young Adventurer’s Club is a really effective way to help kids stay safe, and I see so much potential for the growth of this program in the future. I’m eager to help BPN continue to expand its reach.”
Kyla’s roots in the Lehigh Valley run deep. A lifelong resident, she cherishes the vibrant community and natural beauty of the region, which she describes as an ideal place to raise her family. Outside of her work with BPN and her ongoing role as an SLP, Kyla enjoys reading, cooking, and—most importantly—spending time with her children, family, and friends.
BPN is fortunate to have Kyla on board and looks forward to seeing her bring her expertise, creativity, and enthusiasm to the Prevention Outreach program. Welcome to the team, Kyla!
