Category 1 -- Brass Era This class includes vehicles built prior to January 1, 1916 as recognized by the Horseless Carriage Club of America and reflecting the automobile's earliest years.
Category 2 -- Classic Era (1925-1948 Inclusive) These vehicles include those recognized by the Classic Car Club of America as full classics.
Category 3 -- Sports Cars This class includes domestic and foreign cars of lightweight body work, designed for speed and handling. An emphasis will be placed on rarity and aesthetics.
Category 4 -- Competition This class recognizes all vehicles that have participated in racing and have a documented history of doing such.
Category 5 -- Performance Cars (1949 to 1963) With the arrival in 1949 of America's first modern ohv V-8 engines, these domestic vehicles are the predecessors to the muscle car.
Category 6 -- Muscle Cars (1964 to 1974) Beginning with the Pontiac's GTO, these domestic vehicles reflect a time when horsepower was king.
Category 7 -- Specialty Vehicles Includes all concept vehicles, prototypes and rare one-of-a-kind vehicles.
Category 8 -- Pre-war Collector (1916 to 1942) Significant pre-war vehicles that were built prior to World War II.
Category 9 -- Post-war Collector (1946 to 1976) Significant post-war vehicles that were built following World War II.
Category 10 -- Motorcycles (1959 & Earlier) Innovations in engineering, performance and style; motorcycle milestones
Category 11 -- Wood-Bodied Cars (Through 1953 Inclusive) What began as the "Depot Hack" evolved into magnificent examples of the coachbuilder's craft and an elegant expression of wealth and good taste among the country club set. These vehicles best typify that era culminating with Buick's final production "Woodie" in 1953.
Category 12 -- Contemporary Supercars Powerful, exotic, expensive, rare and exclusive providing the ultimate motoring experience. This class celebrates these modern automobiles that look great, go fast, drive superbly, where cost is no object.
Category 13 -- Preservation - Unrestored A vehicle unrestored and preserved in the condition in which it was delivered from the factory.
Category 14 -- Debut A vehicle that is making its first appearance at a major national automobile show.
Category 15 -- Aston Martin From the pre-war Coventry-Simplex to the post-war double overhead camshaft engines, these British performers have always wrapped power in lovely hand-finished bodies.
Category 16 -- Auburn Well-powered and attractively finished cars from Indiana that "Fortune" magazine once called "the biggest packages in the world for the price."
