 Press Release

Please read the press release and view the link regarding the dangers of lithium ion batteries ('button batteries") and the dangers they pose to
children....not only as choking hazards but also as burn hazards. They can become lodged in the throat and cause burns to the esophagus. Safe Kids USA
and Energizer have partnered to create "The Battery Controlled" to educate parents and caregivers of this danger. The video is excellent.....it very succintly shows all of the household items that contain these types of batteries (that you wouldn't even think about), and how easy it is for young children to access the batteries themselves.

Safety Tips

Prevent dryer fires! Take these precautions:Clean the lint screen/filter before or after drying each load of clothes. Clean the dryer vent and exhaust duct periodically. Check outside while the dryer is running to make sure air is escaping. If not, it may be blocked. Clean behind the dryer where lint can build up. Replace plastic or foil accordion-type duct material with a rigid or corrugated semi-rigid metal duct which provides maximum airflow and reduces the chances of kinking or crushing and trapping lint.
